FORTUNE describes the listing as "the definitive report card on corporate reputations," with winners chosen based on their sales performance and a broad range of other criteria that included scores for management quality, product quality, innovativeness, investment value, financial soundness, talent, social responsibility and use of assets. Tech Data outperformed its competitors in all of these categories.
Business 2.0 Magazine:
33rd in the nation
In its May 1999 issue, Business 2.0 magazine ranked Tech Data 33rd in its first global and comprehensive listing of the top 100 companies in sales and best practices in Internet business. Tech Data's quarter-over-quarter Web commerce growth rate of 61 percent is the highest of all distributors listed in the Business 2.0 Hundred.
Inter@ctive Week Magazine:
10th in the nation
In its first-annual listing of top Internet companies, Inter@ctive Week ranked Tech Data 10th in the nation - ahead of such well-known dot-com companies as Amazon.com, e-Bay and Priceline.com - for its 1999 Internet 500 listing. The Internet 500 was researched in conjunction with the Center for e-Business at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Ernst & Young, the public accounting firm. Internet 500 companies were selected to participate based on electronic commerce sales.
Business Week Magazine:
61st worldwide
Business Week's INFO TECH 100 listing ranks the world's best-performing technology companies based on rate of growth, profitability and shareholder return. Tech Data ranked 61st in the June 2000 listing.
Technology Fast 50:
14th in the region
Tech Data was again named to the Technology Fast 50 program for the Tampa Bay region posting an impressive 379 percent revenue growth for the five-year period between 1994 and 1998.
CRN Hall of Fame:
Tech Data Chairman and CEO Steven A. Raymund
Computer Reseller News (CRN) named Steven A. Raymund, chairman and chief executive officer of Tech Data Corporation, to its 1999 Industry Hall of Fame. Endorsed by the Computer Museum History Center, Mountain View, Calif., CRN's Industry Hall of Fame was created in 1997 to recognize the historic achievements of computer industry visionaries. Past inductees include Bill Gates, Microsoft Corp.; Steve Ballmer, Microsoft Corp.; William Hewlett, Hewlett-Packard Company and Steve Jobs, Apple Computer Inc.

1999 Worldwide Distributor of the Year Award
As IBM Corp.'s 1999 Worldwide Distributor of the Year, Tech Data was recognized for outstanding performance in IBM sales volume, year-to-year growth, sale of strategic products and commitment, competency and application skills in selling PSG products.
Novell Inc.:
1999 Service Excellence Award
Tech Data received Novell's 1999 Service Excellence award recognizing exceptional sales and service support for the world's leading provider of directory-enabled networking software products.
CompTIA:
1999 Award of Excellence
The Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) honored Tech Data Corp. for its innovative approach to electronic commerce initiatives, colocation strategies and configure-to-order and technical support services. Since 1994, the CompTIA Awards of Excellence have recognized industry leaders who consistently practice and exceed a high standard of excellence through their involvement with the association, the industry and their communities.
Kodak Document Imaging:
1999 No. 1 Authorized Imaging Distributor Award
Kodak Document Imaging, a division of Kodak, recognized Tech Data for outstanding sales performance. Tech Data received the No. 1 Authorized Imaging Distributor Award for a 259 percent year-over-year increase in sales of Kodak's Digital Science Scanners and Software products. Kodak Document Imaging also recognized Tech Data for demonstrating its commitment to the document imaging business by creating a team focused on Kodak's Digital Science Scanners and Software. This is the first year Tech Data has received the No. 1 Authorized Imaging Distributor Award from Kodak.
Bloomberg Tribune 50:
1999 Company of the Year
The Bloomberg Tribune 50 recognizes best-performing public companies based in the Tampa Bay area. This 8th annual award marks the second time in three years that Tech Data has received this honor. Companies are ranked against such criteria as total revenue, one-year average return on equity, one-year percentage increase in sales and other business-related accomplishments.

113th in the nation InformationWeek Magazine
In its 12th-annual listing of top 500 most innovative users of IT, InformationWeek ranked Tech Data 113th in the nation for its demonstrated pattern of technological, procedural, and organizational innovation. Reported in the Sept. 11, 2000 issue, the InformationWeek 500 was researched in conjunction with Sterling Heights, Mich.-based IRG and San Diego-based CIC Research.
10th in the nation Internet 500

In the 1998 NetMarketing 200, Advertising Age's Business Marketing ranked Tech Data among the best business-to-business Web sites. Tech Data was the only major technology distributor to finish in the Top 50 with an A- rating. Winning sites were selected as the best in their respective industries in adapting the Web to their business strategies. In addition to site design, Tech Data was commended for its multi-lingual links, online ordering and tracking capabilities.

No. 1 Web Site
In a recent CMP ChannelWeb online survey of 552 resellers, Tech Data's Web site ranked No. 1, visited by more resellers on a monthly basis than its competitors. Tech Data was also rated third for the best vendor site and edged out Ingram Micro in the best Web site category. In addition, Tech Data received more No. 1 ratings than any other distributor when ranked among vendor Web sites.
CIO Magazine: "1997 Enterprise Value Award"
One of six winners selected from a pool of 56 – and the only company to score top marks in all categories – Tech Data received this award for the success of its InterAct electronic commerce solutions.
Advertising Age's Business Marketing: Tech Data ranks 39 out of the Top 200 Web sites
In the second annual NetMarketing 200, Business Marketing ranked Tech Data among the best business-to-business Web sites. Tech Data was the only major computer distributor to finish in the Top 50 with an A- rating.
More than 400 sites were reviewed and graded by a NetMarketing team of experts. The 200 sites selected represent the best in their respective industries in adapting the Web to their business strategies. In addition to site design, Tech Data was commended for its multi-lingual links, online ordering and tracking. It moved up from No. 60 in NetMarketing's 1997 ranking.
Top 1%: CMP ChannelWEB "Reseller Friendly" Web site

Tech Data's Web site was nominated as a "Reseller Friendly" Web site by users of ChannelWEB, a Web resource for computer resellers, vendors and distributors. The ranking is based on member nominations, site design and overall commitment to the reseller channel.
In addition to Tech Data's Top 1% ranking, one member commended Tech Data on its "fair prices" and free online shipping.

CMP ChannelWEB On-Line Survey
In a survey of 552 resellers, respondents indicated that they visited Tech Data's site more often than any other distributor. Tech Data received more No. 1 rankings than any other distributor and was second overall to Microsoft.
