Affordable design features let your customers configure
the uniprocessor IBM® xSeries® 206m to fit their budgets. The x206m,
which incorporates IBM Xtended Design Architectureâ„¢ features, offers the
latest single- and dual-core Intel® Pentium® processors. The single-core
Pentium 4 processor is designed with 1MB or 2MB (model-specific)
of L2 cache, a leading-edge 800MHz front-side bus (FSB), 64-bit
extensions (EM64T) and Hyper-Threading Technology, to help provide
customers with the computing power they require to match their business
needs and growth. The Intel Pentium D processor provides two cores with
matching 1MB L2 or 2MB L2 caches,
for increased performance. The x206m supports up to 8GB of leading-edge
533MHz PC2-4200 ECC (Error Checking and Correcting) double data rate II
(DDR2) memory (in 4 DIMM slots) for high performance and reliability. An
integrated Gigabit Ethernet controller is standard, providing high-speed
data transfers and saving a valuable adapter slot.

Memory Upgrades
A maximum of 8GB of memory is supported via 4 DIMM slots.
A single DIMM configuration is valid if installed in socket
DIMM 1. Otherwise, DIMMs must be configured in matched pairs
starting with DIMM sockets 1 and 3, then 2 and 4.
Single DIMM models require the standard
DIMM either matched or removed.

All models offer impressive features at an equally
impressive price, including 1.2TB of high-performance hot-swap
redundant Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS) storage or 1TB of fixed,
simple-swap or hot-swap redundant SATA storage, depending on the
model. This offers customers a number of levels of availability,
storage capacity and price. The
integrated IBM ServeRAIDâ„¢-8e supports RAID-0 data striping and
RAID-1 disk mirroring on either SAS or SATA drives at no
additional cost to your customer. Additional RAID
levels are supported via an optional IBM ServeRAID SAS or SATA
controller. For high-performance I/O.
Mixing of SAS and SATA drives is not supported.

Hard Drive Options
Please make sure to check the system models drive
specifications before you order the drives below. The X206m does
not support mixing of SATA & SAS drives. For configuration of
RAID 5 the ServerRaid 7T is required for SATA drives and
SererRaid 8I for SAS drives.
- Simple-Swap drives have a Rail kit that allows for easy
remove, The system must be shut down before drives are
removed
- Systems with Fixed drives use Simple-Swap drives just
remove the drive rails
- Hot-Swap SATA drives are only supported in Hot-Swap
Models Mixing SAS & SATA are not supported
- Hot- Swap SAS drives are only supported in Hot-Swap
Models Mixing SAS & SATA are not supported
