How to Become a Customer
From this page you can access all the forms needed to start the New Customer registration process.
- If your company is located in the U.S., please follow the instructions for domestic customers, or call 1-800-237-8931, ext. 78196.
- If you prefer to contact us by phone, please call 305-718-3160 or, within the U.S., 1-800-237-8931. A New Accounts Representative will gather the information we need about your company and will answer any questions you may have about becoming a Tech Data's customer. Next, we will send you by fax all the forms you must fill out to complete the registration.
All companies located outside the U.S. must provide an Evidence of authority to do business issued by the country of residence.

First step - Registration
Fill out and submit the New customer registration form.
Please note that there is a US$100 refundable fee for opening a new account with Tech Data. This fee is payable via wire transfer, MasterCard, Visa, or company check. Once you reach a minimum of US$5,000 in purchases within the first 30 days after you open your account, this fee will be refunded to you via a credit memo.
Second step - Tax forms
Print the Tax Exemption Form, fill it out and fax it to 305-718-3004. If you need help filling out this form, see the Tax Form Instructions.
Third step - Distributor/Reseller Documentation
You should remit to us by fax a copy of the document that grants you authority to do business in your country, including the tax payer identification number of your company. The following are some examples of tax documents used in different countries:

- Costa Rica: Cédula JurÃdica
- Dominican Republic: RNC

Fourth step - Miscellaneous Forms
Fill out the following forms, as applicable:
- If you wish to use our electronic commerce tools and have access to the restricted areas of our Web site -electronic catalog, product availability, technical specifications, pricing, promotions, etc.- you must sign the Electronic Commerce User Agreement. Fax the last page, duly signed, to 305-718-3004. An Electronic Commerce Representative will contact you and give you an user I.D. and password.
- If you wish to take advantage of our credit services, you must complete a credit application and fax it to 305-599-8488, Attn: Credit Manager, along with your company's most recent financial statements.
- If you would like to receive Tech Data's Reseller Catalog, send an e-mail to latam@techdata.com or contact a New Accounts Representative at 305-593-5000 or 727-538-7010.
Fifth step - Reseller Authorizations
So that other companies may purchase product from you, some resellers require express authorizations. Others have authorization programs that offer additional benefits. You may need to fill out a vendor's authorization form for those vendors you wish to represent (there are some restrictions, depending on the country). You can obtain these forms through your Sales Representative.
