Types of EC Admin Users

Tech Data's EC Admin tool has 4 categories of users, each one with its own access rights and privileges. They are: Main Administrator, Admin Users, Account Users, View-Only Users.

• Main Administrator
  There is one Main Administrator per account. The Main Administrator for your account is the person who completes the online registration.
  The Main Administrator has unrestricted access for the account and is empowered to grant or deny access rights and permissions for all users. There is no limit to the number of users that the Main Administrator can add or delete. The Main Administrator controls all passwords. The Main Administrator is identified as contact type "M" in the database.

• Admin (Administrator) Users
  Admin Users are identified as contact type "A" in the database. An Admin User has unrestricted access to all external administration functionality for the account, with the following exceptions:
  • An Admin cannot modify or delete the account's Main Administrator.
  • An Admin can create another Admin User, but cannot modify or delete existing ones.
  As in the case of the Main Administrator, an Administrator may designate any of their account contacts as an Account User. There is no limit to the number of Account Users that can be assigned.

• Account Users
  Account Users are identified as contact type "C" in the database. They have limited rights. They cannot create, modify or delete the Main Administrator, the Administrators or other Account Users. Order inquiry access is optional and must be granted by the Main Administrator or the Admin Users.

• View-Only Users
  View-Only Users are identified as contact type "P" in the database. Their rights are limited to updating their personal profile information and vewing Tech Data's catalog.
